My main research interest is understanding how different plant cell types have evolved, and how these cell types develop and respond to environmental changes.

I started as an Assistant Professor in the Plant Ecophysiology group at Utrecht University in July 2017.

I am a scientist, the UU diversity campaign in 2019.

I am recruiting a postdoctoral researcher to work with me on exodermis evolution in legumes. Applications due 15-June-2021

My "big postdoc paper", the atlas of root translatomes, is now out in Cell: Innovation, conservation, and repurposing of gene function in root cell type development.
